This information highlights upcoming opportunities and events related to national accreditation. Note that all meetings of the PHAB Workgroups are open to the public.
Standards Development and Equivalency Recognition Workgroup Meetings
The meetings of the Standards Development Workgroup and the Equivalency Recognition Workgroup have been scheduled:
- Tuesday and Wednesday, February 13-14, 2008 in Dallas, TX
- Tuesday and Wednesday, April 1- 2, 2008 in Washington, DC
- Thursday and Friday, June 5 - 6, 2008 in Chicago, IL
- Thursday and Friday, July 17 - 18, 2008 in Las Vegas, NV
Research & Evaluation Committee Meeting
The initial meeting of the Research and Evaluation Committee was held March 13 and 14, 2008 in Arlington, Virginia. The Research and Evaluation Committee will develop plans for evaluating the national program and identifying research that will inform the accreditation program.
Assessment Process Workgroup Meeting
The initial meeting of the Assessment Process Workgroup was held on June 25-26, 2008 in Alexandria, Virginia. The Assessment Process Workgroup is charged with determining how to evaluate whether a health department has achieved accreditation status, as well as how health departments can appeal decisions.
